I wonder if the kernal of this story started when I was a young mom-to-be. When I read Two from Galilee it gave me an appreciation for this very young mother.
I like to think that somebody taught Mary'am to read and she pondered over this very scripture that is found in Isaiah. Can't you hear her asking Joseph, "Who is this Man of sorrows that Isaiah is referring to?"
Imagine Mary'am as a thirteen year old child (possibly) hearing the awe-inspiring news from an angel that she would be the mother to the son of God. Imagine that is her writing in Hebrew. That copy of an ancient manuscript is Isaiah 53!
